Recovery Dharma Global (RDG) is excited to announce the opening of nominations for the upcoming Board of Directors election. This is an excellent service opportunity for leaders of Recovery Dharma who are committed to skillful and ethical practice, and sharing their talent, perspective, and experience to grow our global sangha. There are eight seats available for the 2025 election.
We are seeking nominees who exemplify the following qualities:
Servant Leadership: A commitment to lead by serving others and supporting the growth and well-being of our community.
- Peer Leadership: The ability to guide and inspire through lived experience and shared understanding.
- Buddhist Principles: Embodying skillful practice, compassion, equanimity, and ethical conduct in service of the greater good.
- Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA): A dedication to fostering a welcoming and equitable space for all, valuing the diversity of experiences, identities, and perspectives within our community.
- Non-profit Management: Skills and experience in focus areas including administration, communications, events, finance, fund development, governance, inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility, membership and outreach.

Nominations and Election Process
- Recovery Dharma members can nominate themselves or others by completing the nomination form starting February 1, 2025.
- The Nominations Committee will collaborate with nominees to provide information and answer questions about serving as a Board Director and complete candidate questionnaires.
- Candidate information will be posted on the RDG website by April 1, 2025 and a series of town hall events will be organized to help members learn more about the candidates.
- Elections will be held in May 2025.

About Recovery Dharma Global
The non-profit, Recovery Dharma Global, is committed to taking concrete actions to support the inclusion of all members of the global sangha. This sangha elects board members who serve as volunteers for the organization. In addition to the legal duties of a nonprofit board, and the organization’s core intentions, the board’s responsibilities include the following four tasks:
- Develop, publish, and distribute recovery-oriented material
- Maintain a listing of Recovery Dharma meetings and communities
- Provide support for social media communication, websites, and other online collaboration.
- Coordinate and support regional and global conferences, and training opportunities
